Mr. Paul Oluwadare One of FCAHPT, Ibadan's Chief Animal Health Technologist, Mr. Paul Oluwadare, has been awarded the 2020 Global Animal Welfare Award by the World Veterinary Association (WVA) and Ceva Santé Animale. Oluwadare who is a Veterinary Technician, is the author of 14 textbooks addressing topics in animal health and welfare and is a leading exponent of animal welfare delivery in Nigeria. Presenting the awards at the 4th Global Animal Welfare Awards, the World Veterinary Association and Ceva Santé Animale expressed delight that Oluwadare and five others made this year's Awards. The Federal Government, through the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, has approved appointed Dr Adekoya Olatunde Owosibo as the Provost/Chief Executive Officer of the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, in Oyo State. The appointment, according to the government, is for a single period of five years with effect from Friday, 21August, 2020.The government believes that agriculture is the way to diversify the economy, and livestock and aquaculture play a significant role not only in food security, but also in meeting nutritional requirements, job creation and social security, which the college could boost.
